Siemens Receives Two Major Orders from Thailand for Industrial Gas Turbines Siemens Energy has been awarded contracts from Thailand for a total of 16 SGT-800 industrial gas turbines for combined cycle cogeneration plants (CCCP) under Thailand's Small Power Producer (SPP) program. For the end customer Gulf JP, an independent power producer headquartered in Bangkok, Siemens will supply via EPC contractor Toyo Engineering Corporation based in Tokyo, Japan, a total of 14 gas turbines for seven projects. Purchaser of two SGT-800 machines is Yokohama-based Toshiba Plant Systems & Services Corporation, which will build a CCPP as EPC for the end user Amata B. Grimm Power 3 Ltd. Long-term service agreements were also signed for the projects.

Siemens and Saudi Aramco Sign Strategic Procurement Agreement Siemens and Saudi Aramco, one of the world’s largest oil companies headquartered in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, have signed a corporate procurement agreement (CPA). This corporate-level agreement will strengthen the cooperation between the two companies. Siemens to Provide Wet Compression Systems for Power Plants in Egypt Siemens has received a new order for the installation and commissioning of Wet Compression Systems for its eight SGT5-4000F gas turbines installed in the Nubaria, Talkha and Kureimat Power Stations in Egypt. By using wet compression, each turbine can generate an additional 25MW, and at the same time, reduce the NOx emissions by more than 30% per turbine. The customer is the Ministry of Electricty in Egypt represented by Middle Delta Electricity Production Company & Upper Egypt Electricity Production Company.

Siemens Mobile Wellhead Compression Solution Withstands Extreme Siberian Climate Siemens Energy has been awarded a first order from Russia for the supply of a mobile wellhead compression package. Purchaser is Technogarant OOO, the logistics intermediary for Gazprom. The compression package will maintain production of mature natural gas wells, so-called depletion compression. Installation of the compression package in extremely cold conditions in Siberia is planned for first half of 2011.

Siemens to Supply Power Island Equipment to California Siemens Energy has received an order to supply the power island for the repowering of El Centro Generating Station Unit 3 in California. ARB, Inc., a multinational construction company, will be the EPC contractor for the facility. Operator and owner of the power plant is Imperial Irrigation District (IID), California's third largest public power provider. Construction will begin on the project in mid-2010, with commercial operation anticipated to commence in May 2012.

Siemens Receives Order for Cogeneration Plant from Bulgaria Siemens Energy has received an order from Bulgaria for erection of a combined cycle district heating power plant. The customer is EVN (Energie Versorgung Niederösterreich), an energy and environmental services company headquartered in Maria Enzersdorf, Lower Austria. The power plant, to be built in the city of Plovdiv, is scheduled to start supplying approximately 50MW of electricity and as much as 55MW of district heat in late 2011.

Siemens to Supply Compressor Solution for OPAL Natural Gas Pipeline Link Siemens Energy has received an order for the supply of a compressor solution for the OPAL natural gas Baltic Sea pipeline link. The purchaser is the European energy company WINGAS GmbH & Co. KG, a joint venture of the German oil and gas producer Wintershall and the Russian company OAO Gazprom.
