Siemens Receives Two Major Orders from Thailand for Industrial Gas Turbines Siemens Energy has been awarded contracts from Thailand for a total of 16 SGT-800 industrial gas turbines for combined cycle cogeneration plants (CCCP) under Thailand's Small Power Producer (SPP) program. For the end customer Gulf JP, an independent power producer headquartered in Bangkok, Siemens will supply via EPC contractor Toyo Engineering Corporation based in Tokyo, Japan, a total of 14 gas turbines for seven projects. Purchaser of two SGT-800 machines is Yokohama-based Toshiba Plant Systems & Services Corporation, which will build a CCPP as EPC for the end user Amata B. Grimm Power 3 Ltd. Long-term service agreements were also signed for the projects.

Siemens and Saudi Aramco Sign Strategic Procurement Agreement Siemens and Saudi Aramco, one of the world’s largest oil companies headquartered in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, have signed a corporate procurement agreement (CPA). This corporate-level agreement will strengthen the cooperation between the two companies. In addition, a sub-procurement agreement grants Saudi Aramco improved access to Siemens Oil and Gas Division’s rotating equipment and services. This will lead to more cost efficiency for both companies due to reduced project times.

Siemens to Provide Wet Compression Systems for Power Plants in Egypt Siemens has received a new order for the installation and commissioning of Wet Compression Systems for its eight SGT5-4000F gas turbines installed in the Nubaria, Talkha and Kureimat Power Stations in Egypt. By using wet compression, each turbine can generate an additional 25MW, and at the same time, reduce the NOx emissions by more than 30% per turbine. The customer is the Ministry of Electricty in Egypt represented by Middle Delta Electricity Production Company & Upper Egypt Electricity Production Company.

New 37MW Industrial Gas Turbine From Siemens Provides Efficient and Reliable Power On 18 November 2010, Siemens Energy launched a new industrial gas turbine in Finspång, Sweden. With a capacity of 37MW, the SGT-750 will close a gap in the Siemens industrial gas turbine portfolio, which offers a power range between 5MW and 50MW. This versatile machine can be employed both for power generation and as a mechanical drive. The new development provides economic viability and ecofriendliness as well as a high level of availability and reliability.

Siemens Mobile Wellhead Compression Solution Withstands Extreme Siberian Climate Siemens Energy has been awarded a first order from Russia for the supply of a mobile wellhead compression package. Purchaser is Technogarant OOO, the logistics intermediary for Gazprom. The compression package will maintain production of mature natural gas wells, so-called depletion compression. Installation of the compression package in extremely cold conditions in Siberia is planned for first half of 2011.

Siemens Receives Two Orders for Gas Pipeline Projects in China Siemens Energy has secured two orders for key systems for gas pipeline projects in China. The company will supply two variable speed drive (VSD) systems for the gas pipeline project Shanjing III Yangqu station in Shanxi province and four centrifugal compressors for the gas pipeline project Jining in the east of China. The customer for both projects is China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) Materials Company.

Siemens to Supply Main Refrigerant Compressor Solution for LNG Plant in China Siemens Energy has received an order to supply a complete main refrigerant compressor train to China. Purchaser is Shaanxi Zhongyuan Green Energy Natural Gas Company Ltd. The Siemens solution consists of a 0.2MTPA (million tons per annum) electric-motor-driven centrifugal compressor to be installed in a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plant in Dingbian City, Shaanxi province. Plant start-up is scheduled for the second half of 2011.

Siemens to Supply Compressor Solution for Butyl Rubber Plant in Singapore Siemens Energy has received an order to supply three compressor trains to Singapore. The purchaser is German specialty chemicals company LANXESS, the world's largest manufacturer of synthetic rubber. The three motor-driven compressor trains will be deployed in LANXESS' butyl rubber plant on Jurong Island, Singapore. The three compressor trains are scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2011.

Siemens to Supply Power Island Equipment to California Siemens Energy has received an order to supply the power island for the repowering of El Centro Generating Station Unit 3 in California. ARB, Inc., a multinational construction company, will be the EPC contractor for the facility. Operator and owner of the power plant is Imperial Irrigation District (IID), California's third largest public power provider. Construction will begin on the project in mid-2010, with commercial operation anticipated to commence in May 2012.

Siemens Receives Order for Cogeneration Plant from Bulgaria Siemens Energy has received an order from Bulgaria for erection of a combined cycle district heating power plant. The customer is EVN (Energie Versorgung Niederösterreich), an energy and environmental services company headquartered in Maria Enzersdorf, Lower Austria. The power plant, to be built in the city of Plovdiv, is scheduled to start supplying approximately 50MW of electricity and as much as 55MW of district heat in late 2011.

Siemens Presents Subsea Power Grid - Large-Scale Subsea Processing at 3,000m Depth At the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) in Houston, Texas, Siemens Energy is presenting an innovative concept for supplying power to subsea oil and gas facilities located on the seabed. The subsea power grid will be a first in supplying power to processing systems located at water depths of up to 3,000m at ultra long step-outs from the coast. The Siemens solution will be available for deployment by late 2012.

Siemens to Supply Pumping Solution for TransCanada's Keystone Expansion in North America Siemens Energy has received an order to supply integrated pumping solutions for TransCanada's Keystone Gulf Coast Expansion Project. The pipeline will transport crude oil from Alberta, Canada to serve markets on the US Gulf Coast. The expansion will complement the overall Keystone pipeline system, with the first phase expected to begin delivering crude oil to the US Midwest in mid-2010. The order volume for Siemens is more than USD180 million.

Siemens SGT-400 With New Standard Package - One Million Hours in Commercial Operation The latest SGT-400 of the Siemens Energy gas turbine fleet, redesigned and optimised in a new standard package, is now supplying independent power and process heat to meet the needs of one of Europe's largest wastewater treatment plants, the island-based installation at Psyttalia off the coast of Athens, Greece. Additionally the SGT-400 gas turbine fleet has achieved 1,000,000 hours of commercial operation, confirming the SGT-400 as a well proven machine.

Siemens to Supply Compressor Solution for OPAL Natural Gas Pipeline Link Siemens Energy has received an order for the supply of a compressor solution for the OPAL natural gas Baltic Sea pipeline link. The purchaser is the European energy company WINGAS GmbH & Co. KG, a joint venture of the German oil and gas producer Wintershall and the Russian company OAO Gazprom. The compressor trains will be deployed in the first OPAL compressor station in Radeland, Brandenburg. The order volume is approximately EUR40 million.

Siemens and E.ON Investigate Concepts for the Utilization of Coal in Gas Turbine Power Plants To be able to utilize coal in the future for ecofriendly power generation it is important to minimize the CO2 emissions from power plants. Carbon capture and storage (CCS) technologies will play a key role here. Siemens' New Compact Flotation Unit Offers Smaller Footprint and Lighter Weight for Offshore Applications Siemens Water Technologies is launching a new compact oil/water separation unit to the offshore oil and gas industry. The new Vorsep system incorporates several unique methods for removing oil from produced and wastewater streams before they are discharged, reused or injected. The unit reduces inventoried water in the system and is therefore compact and lightweight, ideally suited to offshore applications where footprint and weight are critical.
