Automation

By Meyer Burger Technology

For some production branches, a process can become automated to ensure a constant weld. It is possible to automate weld processes such TIG, MIG, submerged and other weld processes.

The BrickLine uses these advantages in the entire pre-sawing area and combines the process stages of measuring, edge and surface grinding, cropping, tracking and gluing in one closed system.

Facts and figures

  • Model: BrickLine
  • Market Introduction: 2007
  • Purpose: Automated process of brick preparation including measuring, edge and surface grinding, cropping, tracking and gluing
  • Main benefits: Maximum process liability, optimum material flow, integrated material inspection (IR, lifetime, resistivity) followed by specific process, best preparation for sawing process (gluing, full load)
  • Availability: worldwide
  • Sales Partner: Meyer Burger Technology AG, Meyer Burger AG

Full automation guarantees the best possible capacity utilisation and efficiency of cost-intensive processes. The BrickLine combines the process stages of measuring, edge and surface grinding, cropping and gluing in one closed system. The key benefit of the BrickLine is shown in cost accounting. Before a silicon brick is processed into wafers, it passes through various process stages. Thanks to full integrated solutions the cost can be cut down, controlled and evaluated.

The cropping stage is done by precise and efficient inner diameter saws with minimal kerf loss. The BrickLine optimises the output of the wire saw by calculating the maximum load capacity of the workpiece holder. The quality compliant brick is moved along the conveyor belt to the fully automated gluing station. The final stage of the process is gluing the bricks to the workpiece holder. The accuracy of the gluing process saves consumable costs and guarantees high quality in the wire sawing process. The BrickLine offers high uptime and minimises the cost in pre-wafering.

GlueMaster

The request for automation is vastly growing in the industry. Meyer Burger offers a semi automated solution for emerging markets - The new GlueMaster. The new GlueMaster is an automated gluing station for PV production lines. It glues beams to workpiece holders and bricks to beams in different formats as preparation for the following wafering process. The GlueMaster is available in various automated versions. Handling failures are eliminated and bottom chipping is reduced remarkably. The results of this reproducible process are an increase of yield in solar wafering by up to 3% and glue savings by up to 50%.

The degree of automation is flexibly adjustable to individual process needs. Benefit from handling solutions, transportation of workpiece holders, beams and bricks to the GlueMaster up to an integration into a fully automted BrickLine.
