Favuseal - Fire Barrier System

Favuseal's fire barrier system, introduced in 1988 for the protection of glass fibre reinforced epoxy (GRE) piping in the offshore industry, protects numerous oil installations all over the world against fire.

The Favuseal fire barrier system (FFBS) is also used in a vast amount of electrical installations, protecting power cables and signal cables.

An effective, environmentally friendly fire barrier

The system is based mainly on the Favuseal technology that was developed in the early 1980s. A series of tests on FFBS protected GRE pipes have demonstrated the system's excellent properties as a fire barrier. Tests have been conducted with great success in ovens and under "jet fire" conditions, providing highly convincing results.

As a benefit to the environment, Favuseal is halogen free and does not generate corrosive gases or toxic gases in a fire, thus also protecting the firefighting personnel. The reaction in Favuseal also generates very low smoke emission only.

Favuseal support services

Favuseal AS also provides technical support such as dimensioning of the barrier and an installation manual. For these calculations a well-proven mathematical model is developed and used to calculate the amount of materials to any given installation scenario. Favuseal AS can deliver FFBS and other Favuseal products in any quantity anywhere in the world on relatively short notice. Favuseal AS is owned by the Schlytter-Henrichsen family.
