This report extends beyond the headline forecast and presents some detail on new areas of modelling being explored by SEAI. Construction of a bottom-up energy demand model for Ireland is detailed (LEAP Ireland), together with early results of an expanded electricity modelling capability (PLEXOS Ireland), to investigate the potential of such measures as electrification of residential heat. Details of the bio energy analysis model (BEAM) are provided, along with selected results from the analysis that formed part of the Bio Energy Roadmap.
