R&D studies

Deltamarin R&D carries out 35-40 different studies per year. We offer studies for shipowners and suppliers for their product and project development and to support their decision-making process.

Project design

Project design by Deltamarin is based on the principle of total coordination. Besides the general arrangement, this includes the coordination of items such as structure, accurate weight, compartmentation and stability, machinery arrangement and the fitting into a good hull form ensuring efficient performance.

Conversion projects

We have wide-ranging experience of more than 20 years in the conversion of many types of ships. Deltamarin can offer conversion projects from smaller refurbishments through lengthening and capacity increase projects up to major conversions with completely new purpose of the final ship.

Hydrodynamics

Deltamarin offers advanced hull form and propulsion arrangement designs based on extensive statistics, continuous research and development, model tests and full scale experience.

Stability studies and calculations

Stability calculations are carried out for all design phases from outline project work to delivery documents and plans. Deltamarin also provides studies for existing vessels.

Navigation bridge design

Deltamarin offers complete navigation bridge design package including all design disciplines, giving owners the option to verify the correct shape, layout and functioning of the navigation bridge at an early stage.

3D models

Virtual reality 3D computer models are the start-up of the IT revolution in shipbuilding and shipping. With our 3D models, complicated spaces can easily be visualised. The virtual mock-up also allows for quick and easy changes, checks of functionality and the running of simulations.

Ship function simulations

The main purpose of ship function simulations is to optimise and improve the processes and to detect bottlenecks and problem areas. When the simulation is done at a very early stage, such as the project stage of the design, the full benefit of a simulation can be achieved.

Total ship safety

We are continuously building up our safety products for covering the total ship safety as a life cycle issue.

Evaluations

Deltamarin carries out evaluations of customer projects for all project phases. Typical cases are project and basic design evaluations.

Basic design

We carry out four to six basic design tasks for different types of vessels every year - an unbeatable track record. The big volume and references, combined with high quality end products, the built ships, gives us a good starting point for any kind of basic design task.

FEM calculations

Deltamarin's expertise in FEM calculations can be of great use to the shipowner. We can provide verifications of shipyard and class calculations or check special items not included in the shipyard’s scope.

Supervision services

Deltamarin can provide supervision of a complete newbuilding, specialists for inspection of a specific area or problem, as well as reliable, proven working procedure descriptions for supervision work.
