Pertamina To Pump 171,900 Bpd In 2009

EBR Staff Writer Published 10 June 2009

PT Pertamina (Pertamina), a company engaged in oil, gas and geothermal energy exploration and production both domestically and overseas, has plans to produce 171,900 barrels of oil per day (bpd) in 2009, as its oil production has been decreasing by 18% per year. In order to reach the production target, which increases from 150 bpd in 2008, Pertamina will increase the production of its main oil fields in Sukowati, Tambun, Limau and Polent.

Pertamina's natural gas and oil production has experienced a good boost over the precedent many years. In the 1990s, the company’s oil production was only around 95,000 bpd but now attained 150,000 bpd.

The production target is projected to be met with the production of Pertamina’s subsidiaries such as PT Pertamina EP which is projected to pump 125,500 bpd, Pertamina Hulu Energi 34,700 bpd, Cepu 6.7 bpd and around 5,000 bpd from acquired firms. The gas production in the meantime is aimed at 1,123 million cubic feet per day.
