EBR Staff Writer Published 03 February 2009

Agreement boosts use of renewable energy

Trina Solar, a manufacturer of solar photovoltaic products, has announced that its subsidiary, Changzhou Trina Solar Energy, has entered into a sales agreement with Gestamp Asetym Solar, under which Trina Solar will supply Gestamp Asetym Solar between 20MW to 36MW of photovoltaic modules for one year at pre-determined prices.

Arturo Herrero, vice-president of sales and marketing for Trina Solar, said: “We are excited to have entered into this sales agreement which affirms our supply partnership with Gestamp Asetym Solar (GA Solar) in the past.

“GA Solar's plan to implement new solar projects in markets such as Italy, Greece, the US and the Middle East will be supported by their parent company's presence in over 20 countries.”

Earlier in September 2008, Trina Solar announced that shipments began in September to provide more than 13,400 solar PV modules to power the Atlantic City Convention Center. This supply came as part of a signed agreement with general contractor American Capital Energy, who is managing project integration and installation for Pepco Energy Services and the Atlantic City Convention & Visitors Authority. The agreement provides for up to four additional megawatts to be supplied during 2009.

Trina Solar is a system installation company and engaged in manufacturing of modules. The company also works on vertically integrated business model from the production of monocrystalline and multicrystalline silicon ingots, wafers and cells to the assembly of modules.
