Company Overview

National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORD) is a government-owned oil producing company. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary company of the Ministry of Petroleum. Currently, the company carries out its operations through its subsidiaries. It is engaged in the exploration, refining, and transportation of oil, gas, and petroleum products. The company and its subordinate companies have been established to separate oil upstream activities from downstream activities.

The company has nine crude oil refineries located in Tehran, Tabriz, Esfahan, Abadan, Kermanshah, Shiraz, Bandar Abbas, Arak and Lavan Island. It also owns several kilometers of crude oil and oil product transfer pipelines and a number of pumping stations. The company is headquartered in Tehran, Iran.
